Making a difference as a trainee - QI in hip fracture care
On 8 March 2018 the National Hip Fracture Database is running a trainees’ learning day on hip fracture quality improvement (QI) in Nottingham area (venue to be confirmed). We wish to showcase QI projects which have already been undertaken by core trainees and specialist registrars, as part of that meeting, and to publish abstracts of these on the NHFD website.
So we are looking for QI projects that have made a real, sustained, measurable difference to any aspect of hip fracture care, that can be evidenced with data and that the methodology can be described in a way that others can replicate in their own services.
Abstracts based on the attached proforma should be countersigned by the supervising consultant to confirm your contribution and the sustained benefit that was achieved. The proforma should be returned to NHFD@rcplondon.ac.uk with confirmation that the supervising consultant supports the submission and confirmation of the trainee’s contribution to the project and of the successful outcome.
Submissions should be entered by 15 December 2017 and presenters will be informed by 5 January 2018.
Please inform current or past trainees of this opportunity, at your earliest opportunity, in view of the time constraints – ideally trainees in orthopaedics, anaesthetics and geriatrics should all attend together so that they can work together in workshops on the day.
Best wishes, Sham Rajyaguru , NHFD Project Coordinator
